Larry Willis -- President
Founder of AREF and its affiliated entities. Over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate development in Arizona, North Carolina, and Virginia, with focus on real estate mortgages, foreclosures, marketing real estate, and asset management. Specializes in challenging, complex mortgages and properties that are vacant and underperforming, and aligning development strategies with investment goals. A 1980 Virginia Tech Business graduate.
Mark Rempe -- Development and Real Estate underwriting
Over 15 years of experience in real estate development. Experience includes underwriting, buying, improving and reselling distressed properties. Developed over $100,000,000.00 worth of real estate including over 450 housing units, 3 commercial buildings, over 300 lots, and several multi-family properties and assisted with the development management of 2 large-scale mixed-use development projects in Northern Virginia and North Carolina. Holds a Juris Doctorate Degree, and Graduate Degrees in Real Estate and Urban Planning. Holds a BA in Economics and Government from Hamilton College. Member of the Virginia State Bar.
Mark Baker -- Director, Project Management and Zoning Specialist
Over 8 years of experience in project management and land-use planning that spans the development process from start to finish, including feasibility studies, advising project design, securing entitlements, marketing, and property management for both commercial and residential projects. Served as former Secretary to the City of Richmond Planning Commission. Experience includes working as the Principal Planner for the City of Richmond to manage the Land Use Administration (current planning) division, and to supervise land-use matters including, Zoning Studies, Zoning Text Amendments, Rezoning, Conditional Rezoning, Special Use Permits, Community Unit Plans, Plan of Developments, Institutional Master Plans and Subdivisions. Holds a BA in Urban Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Brandy Workman – Director, Property Management
Over 7 years experience in property management, accounting and finance. The President of Atlantic Management and CEO of Atlantic Development. Responsibilities include the development and management of projects relating to multi-family, retail, office, historical and storage facilities in Richmond, Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina. Holds a BA in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Winona Miles -- Project Management
Over 15 years experience with land- use, planning and development- project management. Managed development and subdivision plan projects for the City of Richmond for nearly 6 years including 200 land use plan projects (like the Vistas on the James, Riverside on the James and the Philip Morris Biotech Research Facility Plan of Developments). Licensed Virginia real estate agent. Holds a BS and Master degrees from Old Dominion University. Certified in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Certified in Landscape Design from George Washington University.

Over 5 years of experience in marketing and communications with Colliers International (San Francisco), GE Financial, and Genworth Financial. Graduate of Penn State University.
Rodney Williams, Jr. -- Home Sales and Construction
Over 14 years experience in residential real estate sales and home renovation. Represented a Richmond-based non-profit housing agency in the purchase, renovation and re-sale of more than one hundred HUD foreclosures. Virginia-licensed real estate broker and Class-A building contractor since 1999. Designated an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) from the National Association of Realtors. Certified in Advanced Creative Exchanging, Real Estate Finance, New Mortgage Types & Tax Laws pertaining to real estate from the Richmond Association of Realtors. Certified in Estimating, Project Management & Scheduling from the Home Builders Institute of VA. Holds a BA from Hampton-Sydney College (1993).
